Do You Qualify?

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Idaho (or ability to obtain licensure quickly).
  • 3+ years of relevant civil legal experience, preferably in government or public sector.
  • Eligible to practice in all Idaho state and federal courts.
  • Must have (or be able to obtain) a valid driver's license and be insurable.

What You'll do:

  • Advise County departments and officials on civil legal matters and risk management.
  • Represent the County in litigation, appeals, and administrative proceedings.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, ordinances, and other legal documents.
  • Attend public meetings and provide real-time legal guidance.
  • Train County staff on legal compliance, ethics, and records management.
  • Collaborate with outside counsel and insurers on complex litigation.
  • You are willing to work evenings, weekends, and be on-call when necessary
