Jubilant HollisterStier is a proud member of the Jubilant Pharma family.Our Promise: Caring, Sharing, GrowingWe will, with the utmost care for the environment and society, continue to enhance value for our customers and stakeholders by providing innovative products and economically efficient solutions through growth, cost effectiveness and wise investment of resources.Job Description:The QC Microbiologist I/II performs the microbial analysis on allergenic and client components, raw materials, intermediates, and finished products following written procedures, providing the data required to determine raw materials/product disposition.Analyze raw materials, in-process, stability and final container products according to established procedures, and as directed by the supervisor.Record and review data in accordance with GxP to meet regulatory requirements and provide information relevant to product disposition.Perform studies to assess product or procedural problems under the direction of the supervisor.Assist in other forms of troubleshooting/investigations as directed.Prepare reports and assist with document revisions as directed by the Supervisor.Maintain training compliance on all procedures.Adhere to all aspects of plant safety programs and in keeping with GMP's or other regulations.Maintain and operate laboratory equipment in accordance with procedure.Perform basic microbiology skills, such as aseptic technique, streak plating, gram staining, microscope useParticipate in the validation of new products and processes.QC Microbiologist II (In addition to the above):Demonstrate proficiency in core microbiology assays, including CCI testing, LAL testing using both Gel-Clot and Kinetic methods, Bioburden using both membrane filtration and pour plate methods, growth promotion, bacteriostasis/fungistasis validation of product, biological indicator verification, APE testing, microscopic examinations, fungal and bacterial identification using microscopic and mass spectroscopy methods.Assist in training exercises.Participate in direct internal and/or external client interactions.Participate in the validation of new products and processes, including writing acceptance reportsPerform special assignments as directed by the supervisor.Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Microbiology or related hard science with microbiology emphasis requiredNo experience required with BS degreeLab experience desired with BS degree desiredWorking knowledge in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel requiredManual Dexterity requiredWorking Knowledge in practical application and understanding of the sciences are necessary to perform the functions of this position requiredMust demonstrate initiative and a willingness to learn.Knowledge of microbiology, statistics, computer-assisted data processing, and good manufacturing practices desirable.Ability to lift 25 pounds unassisted requiredExposure to allergens requiredRepetitive activity and prolonged sitting/standing requiredQC Microbiologist II (In addition to the above):1-year lab experience required with BS degree.Must have an ability to utilize scientific literature, and to make effective written and oral reports that are clear, accurate, and logical.Knowledge of microbiology, statistics, computer-assisted data processing, and good manufacturing practices is required.Shift: Weekday Days, Monday-FridayThis is an on-site, full-time position located in Spokane, WA.Hiring Wage:QC Microbiologist I: $27.91 – $37.74 hr. depending on experience, with opportunity for growth, promotion and annual raises.
