**About Kindering**

*Kindering Center, a not-for-profit neurodevelopmental center, has provided comprehensive services for children with special needs and their families since 1962. Kindering embraces children of diverse abilities and their families by providing the finest education and therapies to nurture hope, courage, and the skills to soar. Kindering Center is dedicated to maintaining a highly trained, licensed and certified team of professionals. Current services include comprehensive developmental assessments, physical and occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, special education, family counseling, feeding team, parenting education, and family resource coordination.*

**Purpose**

Clean rooms and sanitize equipment/toys between scheduled sessions. Provide necessary support for KidsClinic therapy, Stepping Stones preschool, Co-op family classes, and other center-based services.

**Principal Duties & Responsibilities**

*Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:*

* Disinfect various surfaces including tables, communal door handles, knobs, elevator buttons, and handrails.

* Wipe down large equipment in the gym, sensory rooms, and classrooms.

* Sanitize toys and materials, moving them from the Dirty Tub to the Clean Tub.

* Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors.

* Empty trash and garbage containers as necessary.

* Adhere to the daily cleaning schedule and ensure cleaning protocols are completed on time before the start of each new session.

* Assist with classroom set-up and clean up, maintain and prepare classroom supplies, maintain and clean up toys and equipment, record classroom attendance, prepare art activities

* Supervise and maintain the kitchen in clean order, maintain kitchen supplies, compile shopping lists for snacks, do laundry

* Attend monthly department meetings and quarterly All-Staff meetings.

* Provide support to educators, therapists, and other departments

* Perform other tasks upon request.

**Required Education & Experience**

* 1 year of custodial or professional cleaning experience preferred.

* Experience working with infants and toddlers, or children with disabilities preferred.

* Ability to be playful and creative with young children.

* Strong teamwork skills.

* Ability to demonstrate dependability and punctuality.

**Minimum Prerequisites**

* Pass Washington State DSHS criminal history and background check and FBI fingerprint check.

* Pass tuberculosis test.

* Provide proof of current immunizations.
