Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test firmware of mission critical firmware.

• Prepare and maintain specification, design, and test documentation.

• Understand hardware, firmware, and software interactions and collaborate with other engineers across disciplines.

This job may be for you if...

• B.S./M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field

• Typically, 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Embedded systems firmware development including:

• Real-time firmware design

• C/C++ and assembly languages

• Low level RTOS or Embedded Linux Development experience

• IoT and communication protocol experience including:

• Understanding of the OSI model

• Experience with wireless communication and IoT protocols (MQTT, Bluetooth, COAP, LwM2M, etc)

• Familiarity with industry standards and protocols (e.g., 3GPP, GSMA NA)

• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills

• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities

• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment

• Background check results satisfactory to SEL

• Negative drug test result(s).

The salary range for a Wireless Firmware Engineer is $88,600-$108,200. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with differing experience. Our salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
