Job Description:
The Supplemental Patient Care Assistant will fill in for vacation and sick calls at various imaging centers based on department need.
Summary: To assist the radiologists and technologists to obtain the highest quality studies and to effect the most efficient workflow in the department.
General Description: The Patient Care Assistant must be able to: work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced environment in meeting continual deadlines; handle multiple priorities with constant interruptions; be highly organized to meet deadlines. Organizational skills are essential. Interacts with the radiologists, other departments within Inland Imaging, patients and family members and outside contacts. Excellent written, verbal and personal communication skills; be tactful and diplomatic; and be highly confidential. Makes decisions regarding daily work priorities and other decisions based on company policies and procedures.

Transports patients to/from inpatient department or Emergency Room to/from Inland Imaging department.
Escorts patients to exam rooms and instruct patient in the appropriate preparation for exam
Maintains clean, well stocked exam and dressing rooms
Assists Technologists with patients as needed
Explains exams to patients
May need to lift or transfer patients to exam table
May position patients on tables and help them off tables once exams are complete
Works with Team Leader to order supplies
Obtains detailed medical history and consents from patients
May obtain referral for exam
Works closely with Team Leader and technologists to best place patient exams
Assists scheduling department with scheduling patients
Maintains current level of competence according to Inland Imaging and hospital (if applicable) requirements.
Assists technologist with removal of IV's
Handles bodily fluids after patient is done with exams.
Cleans scanner, dressing and restrooms after patients.
Assists in dressing or undressing patients for exams.
Obtains patient's blood chemistry results prior to exam.
Assists technologist or nurse with contrast reactions or emergency situations.
o Recognize symptoms of contrast reactions.
Knowledgeable of hospital codes and infection status (if applicable)
May monitor patients after procedures.
This position may be required to work in a hospital, urgent care or clinical setting.
Rotates to other shifts and locations as needed
Performs other duties as assigned
General Duties and Responsibilities:
May be required to complete a course in back safety prior to working with patients
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality within the Inland Imaging companies and Inland's customers.
Honest, pleasant manner and good personal hygiene.
Free of alcohol and drug abuse.
Valid state driver's license and proof of insurance.

Detail oriented; ability to multi-task; organized and able to work in a fast paced environment.

Performs other duties as required by displaying team spirit and self-growth, accepting and performing other projects and responsibilities, and requesting other projects and responsibilities.
Rotates to other shifts and locations as needed
Attendance is required for this position.

Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma/GED required
Experience: One year minimum experience in the medical field.
o Anatomy and medical terminology preferred.
o Medical office experience preferred.
o Understanding of CT procedures to be read by radiologist preferred.
Computer Skills: Experience with the following computer applications is highly desired: Outlook; Kronos; Imagecast; iSite; Intranet; StaffReady; EPIC and Medicalis
Background Check:
o Must be able to pass a background check required by RCW 43.43.830-840 to work with children under the age of 16, developmentally disabled persons or vulnerable adults
