As a Professional Engineer for Roadway, you will design and analyze freeways, interstate highways, interchanges, urban and rural roadways, and shared-use trails, with support from your team.What are the core responsibilities for the role?* Design and analysis freeways, interstate highways, interchanges, urban and rural roadways, and shared-use trails* Prepare studies, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a wide variety of transportation projects* Work under the direction of a Project Manager to lead the roadway design discipline and to coordinate and integrate the other associated design disciplines on projects* Support project managers with client relations, stakeholder coordination, and sub consultant management* Interface with coworkers to achieve shared successQualifications, Skills, and Competencies:* Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering* Professional Engineering license in state of employment or ability to obtain within one year of hire* 5 years of experience in roadway transportation engineering* Experience working on multidisciplinary project teams* Solid background in AASHTO roadway geometric design criteria* Proficiency using Bentley civil design software is preferred* Knowledge of WSDOT/IDT standards and plan preparation procedures* Drainage design and/or traffic engineering experience is a plus* Solid written and oral communication skills* Self-motivated, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail* Proficiency with MS Office applications* A desire to grow personally and professionally with each project assignmentWhy would a candidate want this job?At Horrocks, you can expect a competitive base salary and award-winning benefits.
