Geotechnical Tunnel Engineer

Our client is looking to hire an experienced Geotechnical Tunnel Engineer to lead projects in the development and implementation of geotechnical field exploration and laboratory testing programs, geotechnical analyses, preparation of geotechnical data anddesign reports, development of tunneling and trenchless specifications, and providing support during project construction
Responsibilities:

• Analysis of laboratory testing results and determination of geotechnical design parameters
• Preparation of technical reports, data reports, and baseline reports
• Design of earth and rock retaining structures, ground improvement, embankment and cut slopes, tunneling and ground support methods, and both soft and hard rock tunnels and shafts
• These projects will include both conventional design-bid-build projects, as well as design-build projects
• Develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates for underground
• Apply sound engineering judgement on geotechnical and underground portions of construction projects to provide meaningful design and construction reviews and inspections and foundation aspects of infrastructure projects
• Oversee and monitor cross-functional teams of engineers, planners, and scientific professionals to execute project work on multiple concurrent projects
• Contribute to proposal and cost estimate development and track business development opportunities, both internally and externally

Key requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a Geotechnical Engineering focus
• 5+ years of relevant post-education experience in engineering and geotechnical design
• Professional Engineer (PE)
• Solid understanding of ground/structure interaction and movements resulting from various construction methods
• The selected candidate must be authorized to work in the United States
