What you'll do:

As the Chief Development Officer (CDO) you'll be a visionary and strategic leader, serving as a key partner to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Board of Directors. In this role you'll drive the growth and sustainability of Habitat for Humanity-Spokane by leading fundraising, communications, volunteer management, and community relations. You will develop and execute high-impact revenue strategies, foster a thriving culture of philanthropy, and elevate Habitat's brand presence in the region. With a fundraising target exceeding $5 million annually, you'll play a critical role in advancing the organization's mission to expand access to affordable homeownership opportunities for individuals and families.

1. Lead and manage all aspects of fund development, providing inspiring leadership while ensuring the execution of a robust and effective strategy.
2. Cultivate key donor relationships, lead transformational fundraising efforts, and strengthen Habitat's philanthropic partnerships.
3. Ensure fundraising and engagement efforts align with the organization's long-term vision and impact.
4. Develop and implement bold, comprehensive fundraising strategies that drive revenue growth and financial sustainability.
5. Spearhead major gifts, capital campaigns, corporate sponsorships, planned giving, and grant funding efforts.
6. Lead the strategic planning and execution of a high-impact development program, including donor acquisition, retention, and stewardship.
7. Regularly analyze and report fundraising performance to leadership and key stakeholders, refining strategies as needed.
8. Develop a high-impact marketing and communications strategy that enhances brand awareness and engagement.
9. Serve as a dynamic spokesperson and thought leader, advocating for affordable housing solutions and community development.
10. Ensure unified, compelling messaging across all communications and promotional channels to inspire donors and stakeholders.

Who you are:

1. CFRE certification preferred.
2. 10+ years of progressive fundraising leadership experience, including major gifts and multi-year campaigns.
3. 4+ years of executive-level management experience in nonprofit development, marketing, or philanthropy.
4. Demonstrated success in securing transformational 5-7 figure gifts and building lasting donor relationships.
5. Expertise in corporate partnerships, grant development, and planned giving strategies.
6. Strong knowledge of community engagement, marketing, and donor cultivation best practices.
7. Bachelor's degree in fundraising, marketing, public relations, business, or a related field.
8. Proficiency in CRMs, Microsoft Office, Raiser's Edge, and marketing software.
9. Exceptional public speaking and storytelling abilities, with a passion for advocacy.
10. Ability to engage diverse audiences with authenticity, professionalism, and emotional intelligence.

The compensation information below is provided in compliance with all applicable disclosure requirements. Base Pay Range: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00. Actual base pay will depend on varying circumstances, including the position, location, individual qualifications, market finances, and other operational business needs.
