Responsibilities

Complete Building Services (CBS) is hiring a Chief Engineer to oversee a facility in Washington, DC. The Chief Engineer is responsible for all mechanical and electrical operations, maintenance, plumbing, keying, lighting, life safety, and energy management within the facility. The Chief must possess an active DC 1st Class license. Hours are Monday-Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. $40-47/hr.

Here is a view into a day in the life of our Chief Engineer:

1. Assign work to subordinates utilizing CMMS to maintain building operations
2. Provide Quality Control services for the work of subordinates and subcontractors to ensure maximum efficiency, economy, and quality of work performed
3. Perform diagnostics and repairs on building systems
4. Prepare work schedules
5. Train, or arrange for training of, Contractor employees in the proper maintenance of building systems
6. Coordinate and schedule maintenance and repair work on a daily basis to provide on-time delivery of contract requirements
7. Prepare and issue solicitations for the Contractor as necessary for the acquisition of goods and services in support of the contract requirements
8. Administer the CMMS requirements daily
9. Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and project tracking software

Qualifications

Please review the qualifications needed for the role:

1. A minimum of five (5) years experience in a facility of comparable size and complexity requiring similar services
2. Experience installing, troubleshooting, testing, repairing, and maintaining all MEP systems and associated equipment
3. Experience working on chillers, boilers, and other complex systems
4. Possess a valid DC 1st Class Stationary Engineer License
5. On call - must be available for emergencies
6. Possess knowledge of the composition, operation, and installation of a variety of MEP systems, circuits, equipment, and controls
7. Demonstrate working knowledge of engineering and building systems
8. Ability to read, review, and understand blueprints
