Key Responsibilities

Under general supervision, responsible for service, repair, design, configuration, and operation of HVAC building control systems and other low voltage subsystems (lighting, nurse call, data networks, etc.). Ensures quality, timeliness, and efficiency. Develops complex software, commissioning, and troubleshooting to ensure proper system operation. Communicates design and operational details to customers, consultants, sales, service teams, and subcontractors.

How You Will Do It

  • Designs, configures, and services complex building control systems, creating flow diagrams, sequences of operations, bill of materials, network layouts, schedules, and electrical schematics.
  • Develops and tests software to meet customer requirements.
  • Prepares drawings and equipment schedules for submittals, services, and installation.
  • Orders and tracks delivery of materials.
  • Assists with system loading, commissioning, and validation of system functionality.
  • Provides field change information for as-built documentation.
  • Updates management and customers on project progress and issues.
  • Conducts site-specific training for owners/operators.
  • Participates in coordination meetings and performs value engineering.
  • May supervise or provide work direction to technicians.
  • Adheres to safety standards, prioritizing safety for employees and subcontractors.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or minimum of 8 years' relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of construction, service, or HVAC industry.
  • Understanding of control theory, building automation, and subsystems.
  • Experience integrating low voltage subsystems using protocols like LON, BACnet.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively to non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency with computer-aided drafting tools.
