Description:

Clientmind Recruiting is searching for a Director of Business Development for an aerospace client specializing in next-gen hardware and software solutions for space-based missions. This role is responsible for driving new business development opportunities with customers including NRO, SDA, Space Force, etc.

Candidates *must* have at minimum an active Top Secret clearance and a poly is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take a leading role in discovering and pursuing high-value opportunities with both current and potential partners.
  • Oversee complex acquisition efforts to secure funding for advanced development initiatives and production contracts.
  • Manage proposal development for both exclusive and competitive efforts, demonstrating leadership, strong business sense, and technical understanding.
  • Collaborate across internal teams and with external stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of business growth activities.
  • Expand and maintain relationships within relevant industry sectors, utilizing existing networks and cultivating new partnerships.
  • Identify and build strategic alliances aligned with long-term growth objectives.
  • Maintain a strong grasp of the organization's technical offerings and development plans, and clearly articulate key advantages and differentiators to prospective clients.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Represent the organization at industry forums, trade events, and related gatherings.
  • Prepare compelling presentation materials, informational documents, and technical content in support of outreach efforts.
  • Work in coordination with marketing resources to align communication with growth objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records of outreach activities and documentation using internal tracking tools.

Qualifications and Background

  • A four-year degree is required; engineering background is strongly preferred.
  • At least ten years of applicable experience, with a minimum of five years focused on strategic growth, client engagement, or solution-focused sales.
  • Prior work in highly regulated or advanced technology sectors, especially those involving flight systems or mission-critical electronics, is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrates strong judgment, a deep understanding of customer dynamics, and proven experience navigating contract discussions.
  • Thrives in dynamic, high-energy environments where adaptability and initiative are essential.
  • Must currently hold an active U.S. government security clearance at the Secret level or above; higher clearance levels (e.g., TS/SCI) are advantageous.
