Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is seeking a responsible civil engineer to join the System Operations, Planning, and Analysis (SOPA) Wastewater Team that manages existing and future wastewater facilities. If you have experience with combined sewer overflow facilities, whether in design, construction, operations, or NPDES (National Pollution Discharge Elimination System) monitoring & reporting, we encourage you to apply. This is a new position to support optimization of the Ship Canal Water Quality Facility, a Combined Sewer Overflow storage tunnel that will serve North Seattle to reduce discharges to the Lake Washington Ship Canal. This position will join an experienced team that monitors and optimizes existing combined sewer overflow facilities and wastewater pump stations throughout the City of Seattle.

Key Responsibilities:
Experience: Five (5) years of professional civil engineering experience.
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent.
Education and Experience Equivalency: In lieu of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited program, nine (9) years of relevant civil engineering work experience under the supervision of a licensed engineer may be substituted. There is no equivalency for the PE license.

The full salary range for this position is $72.38 - $84.28 Hourly.
Work Schedule: This position allows for a flexible work schedule. Employees will be required to come into the office three times a week. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are mandatory days for employees in the Seattle Public Utilities' Drainage & Wastewater Line of Business.
