MHS is excited to welcome married couples to apply for the role of flex houseparents. As flex houseparents, you and your spouse will live on campus in a student home, providing guidance and mentorship to a group of approximately 8-12 students. This role includes creating a nurturing, family-like environment and managing various responsibilities such as transportation, medication administration, budgeting, and reporting. Initially, you will rotate among different student homes before being assigned to one specific home.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary of $43,825 per person, culminating in a total compensation package of approximately $165,000 per couple, which includes free housing, meals while on duty, utilities, and more.

  • Relocation assistance and comprehensive paid training.
  • A work schedule of nine days on, followed by three days off, allowing personal time during school hours.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working or volunteering with youth, especially those from under-served settings.
  • This role is designed for married couples who have been lawfully married for a minimum of two years.
  • Both spouses should be at least 27 years old.
  • A maximum of three dependent children can reside in the student home.
  • Commitment to maintaining a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol is allowed while on duty.
  • Pets are limited to approved breeds of one dog and fish.
  • A valid U.S. driver's license with the ability to become certified to drive student vans.
  • Comfort leading daily devotions and attending Judeo-Christian chapel services with students (note: proselytizing is prohibited).
  • A high school diploma or GED certificate.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • A high standard of integrity is essential, as all staff serve as role models for students.
  • Both spouses must complete individual employment applications.
