Description:

As Production Manager, you'll spearhead the management and coordination of cutting-edge production processes in a new, highly-automated, 75k sq ft consumer packaged goods food manufacturing facility in Sumner, driving excellence and efficiency in all areas.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Management :
  • Provide leadership and training to accomplish company objectives
  • Oversee all aspects of food production & sanitation operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety
  • Develop and implement production schedules to meet company targets (Objectives & Key Results) and customer demands
  • Ensure compliance with SQF / BRC, FDA, and GMP standards
  • Champion safety and ensure all unsafe acts and unsafe working conditions are addressed to completion
  • Own the Floor :
  • Set SOPs : Develop and maintain clear Standard Operating Procedures for consistent quality holding teams accountable
  • Measure Performance : Monitor and analyze production metrics to exceed targets
  • Coach Leads : Mentor team leads, conduct reviews, provide constructive feedback, encourage, and hold accountable
  • Right People, Right Roles : Optimize staffing by aligning skills with roles for maximum efficiency
  • Improve KPIs : Continuously drive initiatives to enhance efficiency and achieve key performance indicators
  • Leadership & Team Management :
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and motivate food production and sanitation teammates
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment by putting people first and encouraging teamwork
  • Provide leadership and direction to the food production & sanitation teams, ensuring clear communication of goals and expectations
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Process & Policy Development :
  • Develop, implement, and optimize plant policies and procedures
  • Continuously seek ways to improve plant processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs
  • Stay updated with industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance and improvement
  • Problem Solving & Issue Management :
  • Remain calm and effective under pressure, particularly during production issues or emergencies
  • Oversee plant safety programs, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Industrial Management or related field preferred, but not required (depending on experience)
  • 10 years of experience in food manufacturing, with a focus on consumer packaged goods
  • Experience with frozen meat products is a plus, not required
  • Strong background in SQF / BRC, FDA, and GMP compliance
  • Proven experience in process and policy development
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and use data to drive decisions
  • Strong computer skills in either MS Office or Google Suite
  • Lean Manufacturing, ISO, Six Sigma - desired, not required
