Job Title: Center Director
Organization: Raze Early Learning and Development Center
Location: Spokane, WA
Reports To: Executive Director
Status: Full-Time, Exempt
About Raze:
Raze Early Learning and Development Center exists to demolish harmful narratives about Black children in education by providing a culturally immersive, trauma-informed, and
affirming early learning experience. Our center fosters self-worth, promotes kindergarten readiness, and actively disrupts the preschool-to-prison pipeline through high-quality care
and culturally grounded teaching practices.

Position Overview:
The Center Director is a visionary, relational, and operational leader responsible for overseeing the daily management, educational excellence, and culturally affirming environment of the Raze Early Learning and Development Center. This leader ensures our mission is fully realized through strong staff support, high-quality programming, and meaningful partnerships with families and community.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Culture
• Champion the Raze mission and uphold our core values in all aspects of
• Lead with cultural humility, equity, and trauma-informed care at the
forefront.
• Build and maintain a workplace culture rooted in respect, belonging, and
accountability.
• Provide mentorship and coaching to staff with an emphasis on culturally
responsive practice and anti-bias education.
Operational Oversight
• Oversee day-to-day center operations, including staffing, enrollment,
scheduling, and compliance.
• Ensure adherence to all state licensing and Early Achievers requirements.
• Manage budgets in collaboration with the Executive Director and contribute
• Support recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and retention with a focus on staff
wellbeing and professional growth.
Program Quality & Family Engagement
• Ensure fidelity to Raze's unique curriculum which blends kindergarten
readiness milestones and STEAM education with culturally relevant teaching and Black
Excellence spotlights.
• Conduct classroom walkthroughs and facilitate reflective supervision to
improve teaching practice.
• Build meaningful relationships with families, especially those from
historically marginalized communities.
• Collaborate with our in-house mental health team to integrate wraparound
supports for children and staff.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field (Master's preferred).
• 5+ years of early childhood experience, including at least 3+ years in a leadership or administrative role.
• Proven ability to manage a team and implement high-quality curriculum and

education.
• Familiarity with Washington State licensing and quality standards, including
trauma-informed practices.
