BASIS DC is seeking experienced candidates for a 12th Grade College Counselor for the 2025/2026 school year!

BASIS Ed seeks full-time College Counselors who will be responsible for:

  1. Teaching a daily college counseling workshop to 12th graders.
  2. Completing college counseling reports.
  3. Serving as the Senior Research Project (SRP) coordinator.
  4. Organizing college admissions visits each fall.
  5. Conducting family college counseling evenings.
  6. Meeting one-on-one with 9th and 10th graders during the academic year.
  7. Instructing students on completing college admissions applications and financial aid applications.
  8. Obtaining recommendations.
  9. Developing new program ideas.
  10. Co-leading college information evening sessions.
  11. Developing and maintaining college planning and career assessment and readiness software such as Naviance.

Job Qualifications:

Required:

  • A valid fingerprint clearance and/or satisfactory applicable state background check.

Preferred:

  • A Master's degree.
  • Strong communication skills in speaking with parents and students, editing essays, and writing letters of recommendation.
  • A high GPA in his/her major, excellent employment recommendations, and experience working with students and parents.
