Responsibilities for RF Solutions Engineer

  1. Create solutions for in-building commercial (cellular), ERCES, and private 5G/LTE networks.
  2. Provide turnkey cost estimates for Airtower's solutions to enable secure networks tailored to client requirements, in line with organizational SLAs.
  3. Read and analyze schematic and design development drawings to design constructible and compliant DAS projects using software such as iBwave.
  4. Collaborate with procurement and deployment teams on equipment purchases and replacements during project lifecycle.
  5. Coordinate with project and construction managers to accommodate onsite design changes and maintain the latest as-built drawings.
  6. Act as the technical point of contact for projects from contract to maintenance.
  7. Maintain relationships with operators, OEMs, and AHJ partners to stay updated on requirements.
  8. Update design templates based on new product releases and preferences.
  9. Create templates and shop drawings in AutoCAD for design submittal packages.
  10. Ensure ERCES designs follow local, state, and national codes as applicable.
  11. Perform site visits as needed, especially during complex RFP responses, and work with sales and proposal teams to meet requirements.
  12. Assist the system performance team with documentation for network integration and closeout.
  13. Attend client meetings virtually and in person, with some travel to project sites.

Preferred Skills

  1. Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Telecommunications engineering, Mathematics, or Physics; master's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  2. 3+ years of experience in technical sales or engineering of in-building networks.
  3. iBwave Level 2 certification required; CBRS CPI certification a plus.
  4. Experience in designing and deploying private 5G/LTE networks.
  5. ERCES experience is mandatory; VHF/UHF knowledge a plus.
  6. Proficiency with link budgets, noise level calculations, and intermodulation products.
  7. Experience with leading manufacturers' products such as JMA, CommScope-Andrew, SOLiD, Ericsson, Celona, Fiplex, Comba, Nextivity.
  8. Strong understanding of wireless technologies and protocols, especially 5G.
  9. Experience with data collection and processing software for engineering decisions.
  10. Ability to multitask on multiple projects, including complex ones, both pre and post-contract.
  11. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google tools.
  12. Effective team player with a willingness to learn and adapt.
  13. Excellent communication skills for customer interaction and technical documentation.
