Job Description

PCI is seeking an experienced Senior Drywall Estimator for its PCI Washington, D.C. 566 operations based in Ashburn, VA. This individual will be responsible for:

  1. Performing quantitative takeoffs on construction projects.
  2. Establishing labor productivities for estimates.
  3. Maintaining positive relationships with area vendors for competitive material and equipment pricing.
  4. Soliciting subcontractor pricing for work outside of our self-perform group.
  5. Understanding market conditions including competitive approach, backlog, level of risk, and other factors for establishing margin percentages.
  6. Participating in internal bid reviews with supervisors and project teams.
  7. Creating and maintaining positive customer relations to support branch objectives.
  8. Contract administration for secured projects.
  9. Preparing wage and benefit schedules.
  10. Assisting in the hand-off of secured projects to the Operations Team.
  11. Supporting other duties such as change order management or billings as needed.

This position is safety sensitive.

Basic Requirements

  1. At least 5-7 years of estimating experience in construction projects.
  2. Experience with estimating/project management/managing drywall scopes of construction.
  3. Ability to read, understand, and interpret specifications and drawings.
  4. Strong record of establishing and maintaining customer relationships.
  5. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  6. High attention to detail and cost analysis skills.
  7. Ability to read schedules for sequencing and durations of scopes of work.
  8. Proficiency with estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff and Quickbid.

Preferred Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Science or Construction Management.
  2. Experience working with union representatives is preferred.
  3. OSHA Certification.
  4. Local to the metro area preferred.
