CLASS SUMMARY DEPARTMENT PURPOSE - The City of Spokane's solid waste management system offers a full suite of services to keep Spokane clean and safe for the citizens of Spokane. These services include residential and commercial collection services, recycling services, disposal services and educational outreach for citizens of the City of Spokane. POSITION PURPOSE - Provides strategic leadership and direction to the solid waste management operations. Leads, plans and directs the operations of Solid Waste Collection and Solid Waste Disposal. SUPERVISION EXERCISED - Work is performed with considerable independence within the framework of general policies established by the Director of Public Works. Provides supervision to direct and indirect reports in professional, administrative and technical positions.
