POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of this position is to assist and support quality and compliance with the Air Force EFMP Respite Care program contract, which provides free respite care to Air Force families with children with special needs. This is a part-time remote position with travel required in the service area around Fairchild Air Force Base. Responsibilities include complete monitoring visits of providers serving in the program; schedule and complete initial home visits with new families; offer technical support to providers and families in service areas. Program support duties include collecting paperwork and checking for accuracy for providers and families in the program; assisting with recruitment for new respite care providers; and working with the Program Supervisor and Program Director to meet overall program goals and objectives.

Please note this is a part time position of 21 hours per week. Candidates must reside in the Spokane, WA area.

Direct Service:

  • Conduct Monitoring Site Visits of providers in the Fairchild AFB service area.
  • Conduct Initial Home Visits with new families in the program.
  • Collects and prepares required paperwork for local providers to Child Care Aware of America.
  • Assists with Quality Assurance checks on all areas of the program to ensure program is in compliance to standards as set forth by Child Care Aware of America.
  • Assist in conducting compliance checks on files for providers and families to ensure that each file is in line with contract standards regarding forms, monitoring site visits, initial home visits, enhanced referrals, recertifications, background checks, and training deadlines.
  • Assist in assurance that family binders are ready to be distributed to new families in the program. Put together any update requirements for distribution for existing family binders.
  • Assist with in-take procedure for all new providers for the Air Force Respite program.
  • Assist in training sessions for provider's annual requirements.
  • Processes files for providers and families, maintaining them in compliance of standards set forth by Child Care Aware of America.
  • Inputs required data from enrolling families and providers and matched families and providers, keeping data recording in compliance with contract requirements.
  • Conducts new Provider Orientations, giving potential providers key information, training and knowledge about the program to make an informed decision about becoming an Air Force Respite Provider
  • Submit to Child Care Aware of America required paperwork for enrollment of new families and providers according to timelines
  • Support general Air Force Respite program operations
  • Other established program operations as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Arts/Sciences in Special Needs Education or Early Childhood Education or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Special Education or Early Childhood Education field and experience in training adults
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Administrative Services
  • Able to obtain a cleared: FBI fingerprint clearance, Child Abuse Registry Check, and Sex Offender Registry Check and references. Must be able to obtain a Military Base Pass with assistance from Program Supervisor.
  • Must have reliable transportation
Other Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of state childcare licensing is a plus
  • Strong computer skills, high attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Language skills: ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business and technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to effectively present training/orientations.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Reasoning Abilities: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
