Job Overview

URM Stores is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Director of Safety, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) with extensive experience in workplace safety, environmental compliance, and risk management. The role focuses on fostering a safety culture integrated into all organizational levels.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee warehouse EHS programs in compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Promote awareness, engagement, and accountability for EHS initiatives.
• Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, investigations, and ensure proper reporting.
• Provide EHS training to employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Maintain documentation for regulatory compliance.
• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate on EHS aspects of equipment and process design.
• Manage environmental compliance and hazardous materials handling.
• Report EHS metrics to leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Health, or related field; Master's preferred.
• At least 10 years of EHS experience in warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environments.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and related regulations.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in food distribution or manufacturing.
• Certifications such as CSP or CIH are highly preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety standards like HACCP, FSMA, GMPs, SQF.
• Experience with food safety audits and regulatory inspections.

Benefits & Compensation

Starting salary at $90,000 annually DOE, plus comprehensive benefits including health insurance, 401(k) with company match, paid holidays, and employee discounts.
