D.C. United is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Corporate Communications to lead and execute strategic communication initiatives that enhance the club's reputation, drive brand awareness, and foster positive relationships with key stakeholders. This role will also oversee corporate communications for D.C. United & Audi Field, ensuring cohesive messaging and alignment with the club's overall communication strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develop and implement comprehensive corporate communication strategies that align with D.C. United's mission, vision, and business objectives.
2. Oversee all external and internal corporate communication activities, including media relations, executive messaging, crisis communication, and community engagement.
3. Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, providing strategic counsel on communication-related matters.
4. Lead all corporate communications for Audi Field, including public relations, event communications, and community outreach.
5. Develop messaging and positioning strategies to highlight Audi Field as a premier sports and entertainment venue.
6. Collaborate with operational teams to ensure smooth communication around events, partnerships, and key initiatives at Audi Field.
7. Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries related to corporate affairs.
8. Build and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers.
9. Proactively pitch stories to generate positive media coverage.
10. Oversee the creation of press releases, corporate announcements, speeches, and executive communications.
11. Ensure consistency and quality across all corporate communication materials.
12. Collaborate with marketing and content teams to align messaging across platforms.
13. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including sponsors, partners, league officials, and community leaders.
14. Represent D.C. United and Audi Field in key meetings, public events, and industry conferences.
15. Lead crisis communication planning and response efforts.
16. Develop and implement strategies to manage reputation risks and navigate sensitive issues.
17. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelor's degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in corporate communications, preferably in professional sports, entertainment, or a related industry.
3. Proven experience developing and executing successful communication strategies.
4. Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
5. Strong media relations background and existing network of media contacts.
6. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
7. Experience with crisis communication and reputation management.
8. Familiarity with the sports and entertainment landscape in Washington, D.C., is a plus.

COMPENSATION

Based upon qualifications and experience with an anticipated range of $80,000 - $90,000 Annually.
