Job Title: Senior Fire Protection Engineer (PE)

Location: Maryland (Hybrid – Remote & In-Office Flexibility)

About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer with a Professional Engineering (PE) license to join a dynamic and growing team in Maryland. This hybrid role is perfect for an experienced FPE who wants to work on high-impact projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to a culture of innovation and technical excellence.

This position will allow you to lead complex projects across sectors such as healthcare, higher education, government, commercial, and mission-critical facilities, while enjoying flexibility in your work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design of fire protection systems including suppression, alarm, smoke control, and special hazards

Perform fire and life safety code consulting, including code analysis, egress calculations, and compliance reports

Prepare detailed technical drawings, reports, and design documentation

Serve as the client-facing lead on projects, coordinating with architects, MEP teams, contractors, and AHJs

Manage and mentor junior engineers and designers, helping shape the future of the technical team

(Optional) Support business development activities, proposals, and client relationship efforts

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

Licensed Fire Protection PE (required)

7+ years of fire protection engineering experience in a consulting environment

Strong knowledge of NFPA standards, IBC/IFC codes, and jurisdictional regulations

Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and hydraulic calculation software (e.g., HydraCALC)

Excellent communication, time management, and client interaction skills

Based in or able to commute to Maryland for hybrid work (remote/in-office blend)
