Safety Manager
Position Overview
The Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring a safe work environment for all employees by developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs and policies in compliance with regulatory standards. This role involves assessing workplace hazards, conducting safety training, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs and policies in compliance with OSHA standards and other regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead incident investigation processes to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
- Conduct risk assessments to evaluate the safety of workplace practices and recommend improvements.
- Organize and deliver safety training sessions for employees to enhance their understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
- Prepare and maintain safety documentation, reports, and records as required by law and company policy.
- Coordinate emergency response planning and drills to ensure preparedness for potential emergencies.
- Manage hazardous materials and ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal according to environmental health regulations.
- Promote a culture of safety across the organization through awareness campaigns and employee engagement activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management or a related role.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Proven experience in risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
- Strong background in safety training and incident investigation techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead safety initiatives effectively.
- Certification in safety management or related field (e.g., CSP, CHST) is preferred.
