Work Location and Structure: Otis Orchards office; Cottage Grove Office; hybrid remote and in office; or fully remote. May require additional in office time depending upon tasks, meetings, or other requirements.
Travel: Quarterly for Leadership Team meetings; possible travel for industry events; and other required travel needs that occur.

Position Overview:
The Consulting Department Director (CDD) plays a pivotal role in guiding the strategic direction and operational efficiency of the Consulting Department at Community Link Consulting. The CDD, as a member of the Leadership Team, shapes the strategic direction of the consulting services and ensures alignment with company objectives. The role requires a blend of business acumen, leadership skills and ability to innovate and is instrumental in driving business growth and enhancing the firm's reputation in the market and representing the department and the company in external forums and networks, including management of client relationships.
Essential Functions:
Lead with Clarity and Momentum
- Provide decisive leadership to the consulting department, ensuring alignment with strategic goals while maintaining forward momentum-even in the absence of perfect plans.
- Bring structure and clarity to complex or ambiguous situations, simplifying processes and enabling teams to focus on execution.
Empower People, Leverage Managers
- Inspire and support a high-performing team culture by focusing on people development while relying on managers to handle day-to-day team oversight.
- Coach and mentor consultants and Consulting Managers, to grow leadership capacity across the department.
Drive Strategic and Operational Excellence
- Shape and execute the strategic direction of the consulting department in alignment with company goals and client needs.
- Oversee project assignments and resource planning using Teamwork and other tools to ensure efficient delivery and balanced workloads.
Champion Curiosity and Continuous Learning
- Demonstrate a strong learning mindset-quickly absorbing new information about the business, clients, and industry.
- Encourage curiosity and innovation across the team, fostering a culture of experimentation and growth.
Implement and Scale Technology
- Lead the adoption and implementation of technology platforms that streamline operations and improve service delivery.
- Guide large-scale transitions to new tools and systems, ensuring team engagement and successful change management.
Ensure Quality and Accountability
- Serve as the champion for consulting core processes and quality assurance standards.
- Monitor performance metrics and ensure consultants have the training, tools, and support needed to deliver exceptional results.
Build and Sustain Client Relationships
- Act as a strategic partner to clients, tailoring services to meet their evolving needs and ensuring satisfaction.
- Review and approve Statements of Work, ensuring clarity, feasibility, and alignment with client goals.
Collaborate Across the Leadership Team
- Participate in quarterly leadership meetings and contribute to cross-functional initiatives that support company-wide success.
- Align departmental priorities with broader organizational objectives and culture.

Required Competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities):

- Advanced competency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree or # of years equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of leadership and management experience
- Small or medium-sized business management experience
- Experience in Project Management Software
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Experience in educating and coaching staff.
- Experience in following and maintaining workplace privacy.
- Knowledge and Understanding of the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS)
- Experience with Accounting or financial concepts (budget oversight, P&L responsibility)
- Experience in Teamwork.com
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Able to travel Quarterly for Leadership Team meetings; possible travel for industry events; and other required travel needs that occur.
