General Labor/Housekeeper - Temp to Hire

Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Shift may vary with business needs, requiring overtime and some weekends)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Housekeeper for a temp-to-hire position in a fast-paced, dusty environment. The ideal candidate will follow directions, perform repetitive production activities, and maintain a strong commitment to safety and efficiency. Training and instructions are provided on the job, with proficiency expected in a short time.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform housekeeping duties, including sweeping and shoveling feed in a dusty environment.

• Repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds.

• Walk extensively and navigate up to 7 flights of stairs throughout the shift (elevator available for moving heavy items).

• Follow oral and written instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

• Communicate effectively in one-on-one and group settings.

• Adhere to all safety guidelines.

• Occasionally use company computer equipment and systems.

Requirements

• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly, walk for prolonged periods, and navigate stairs (good knee mobility required).

• Skills:

  • Basic math skills (counting, etc.).

  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to pass a forklift training test (note: workers will not operate forklifts).

• Knowledge: Familiarity with and adherence to safety guidelines.

• Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.

• Attire: Steel-toed shoes required.

Work Environment

• This is a physically demanding role in a very dusty environment.

• Candidates must be comfortable with extensive walking, stair climbing, and repetitive tasks.
