Description

SUMMARY

The Marina Assistant Harbormaster will be responsible for providing all Two Rivers Marina customers and visitors with exceptional customer service, at all times. The Two Rivers Marina Assistant Harbormaster will be responsible for all repairs and scheduled and daily maintenance at the Two Rivers Marina, as well as maintaining a clean and safe working environment in accordance with the Spokane Tribal Enterprises policies and procedures. The Two Rivers Marina Assistant Harbormaster works under the direct supervision of the Two Rivers Marina Harbormaster. The Marina Assistant Harbormaster will be responsible for the overall conditions of the Marina facility.

DESCRIPTION

Title:Two Rivers Resort - Marina Assistant Harbormaster

Work Schedule:Full time/Non-Exempt. Scheduled 40 hours per week; flexible shifts required (all days of the week and hours, holiday, and special events). Work schedule is contingent and determined by business needs.

KEY ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides top quality service at all times, and to every customer, in accordance with Spokane Tribal Enterprise's policies and procedures. Monitors fuel dock operations and coordinates with Dockmaster to ensure top quality customer service is provided to all Two Rivers Marina customers and guests.
  • Performs all routine Marina maintenance, including but not limited to: removal and installation of Marina tarps; winterization; repairs to faucets, plumbing, pumps, check valves, heating and venting systems; performs minor electrical repairs such as replacing switches, and light fixtures; replaces filters, nozzles, swivels, hoses, card readers and receipt printers on the fuel pumps; and repairs refrigeration equipment.
  • At the direction of Harbormaster, drops anchors and installs cables both in emergency or damage situations, as well as for purposes of preventative maintenance.
  • Implementing all preventative maintenance programs set forth by the Harbormaster and or Marina General Manager.
  • Maintain the Marina's fire and security systems.
  • Complete records of all maintenance repairs will be maintained.
  • Sustain Good housekeeping and inventory of all tools, parts and inventories required for proper execution of duties.
  • Familiar with all regulations set forth by OSHA, State and Tribal agencies. Proper utilization of all safety equipment and procedures for all tasks being worked on.
  • Conducts maintenance of log booms.
  • Monitors water levels and adjusts docks/cables accordingly.
  • Assists with Spokane Tribal Enterprise's Houseboat repairs and maintenance.
  • Estimates materials, labor and time needed for all projects. Coordinates all material and supply purchases through the Two Rivers Marina Harbormaster and Marina General Manager
  • Provides assistance with docking/securing customer boats arriving for re-fueling at the fuel dock, when necessary. Ensures proper care and safety to customers and property while securing and releasing dock lines and otherwise assisting customer's arrival/departure from the fuel dock.
  • Coordinates with Dockmaster the regular general clean-up maintenance of fuel dock: fuel hoses properly stored and ready for use, dock clear of debris and unnecessary items and equipment, trash emptied on a regular basis and disposed of in accordance with environmental and TOSHA regulations.
  • In coordination with the Dockmaster, observes, monitors and operates the pump out station within established policies regarding sanitation and accident prevention.
  • Assist Dockmaster in the orientation and training of summer dock workers of job duties, responsibilities and requirements; safety practices; and Spokane Tribal Enterprise's policies and procedures.
  • Reports danger or damage to marina docks, dock slips, or dock electrical boxes immediately, to the Harbormaster.
  • Assists with day-to-day operational functions of the Two Rivers Marina, including the moorage facilities, store, fuel dock, pump out and all other Two Rivers Marina property.
  • Works with customers to identify needs and resolves any complaints and problems. Exercises good judgement in resolving any/all customer issues.
  • Takes measures to preserve the safety of employees and all others in the work location. Wear the required safety equipment.
  • Becomes knowledgeable in all facets of the daily operations and assists other Two Rivers Marina employees in the performance of their duties.
  • Ensures that confidentiality is strictly adhered to at all times.
  • Takes initiative in getting job duties and tasks completed without direction or direct supervision.
  • Power washes houseboats and assists in cleaning of Spokane Tribal Enterprise's owned houseboats, as needed.
  • Dispenses propane for Two River Marina customers and guests.
  • Paints and stains as needed, and performs other custodial duties, as needed.
  • Operates snowplow, lawn mower, air compressor, power equipment, power tools, hand tools or other similar equipment, as needed.
  • Utilizes the Microsoft Office Software to complete weekly work schedules, write memos and reports, etc. Utilizes the internet to monitor weather conditions.
  • Assists with and directs Spokane Tribal Enterprise's Houseboat repairs and maintenance.
  • Assist with docking/securing customer boats arriving for re-fueling at the fuel dock, when necessary. Ensures proper care and safety to customers and property while securing and releasing dock lines and otherwise assisting customer's arrival/departure from the fuel dock.
  • Reports danger or damage to marina docks, dock slips, or dock electrical boxes immediately, to the Harbormaster and assist in the development and implementation of a plan for repair.
  • Works with customers to identify needs and resolves any complaints and problems. Exercises good judgement in resolving any/all customer issues.
  • Assist the Harbormaster with Marina Service shop activity and dry storage to maximize profits while causing service and storage availability to be well received by the marina boaters.
  • Repair and maintenance of all vehicles, equipment, tools and ground equipment.
  • Performs and completes other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Candidate must be over the age of 21 and able to successfully pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
  • Candidate must be able to work well in a team environment and must possess excellent interpersonal and team building skills.
  • Takes initiative in getting job duties and tasks completed without direction or direct supervision.
  • Candidate must possess strong people skills and be able to work well with customers, managers, and fellow employees in sometimes difficult situations.
  • Candidate must be dependable and must display integrity and a strong work ethic.
  • Candidate must be able to follow all safety guidelines and be familiar with and follow all Tribal, Federal, and applicable Washington State laws regarding health and safety.
  • Experienced in snow removal, shovels exterior walkways during wintery weather; salts or sands icy walkways, plows or snow blows as needed.
  • Candidate must work flexible shifts (all days of the week) and hours, holidays, and special events.
  • Must be flexible and able to perform or direct other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to swim or use Coast Guard approved personal floatation device.
  • Know man overboard procedures; CPR and basic first aid trained.
  • Ability to obtain Underground Storage Tank Class A certification.

EDUCATION
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent, preferred.
  • Experience or certification in MAST, UST, first aid/CPR, MOB, fire suppression and spill containment. (Training will be provided and the candidate must complete the training satisfactorily).
  • Coast Guard/Power Squadron certification (training will be provided and candidate must complete the training satisfactorily).
SUPERVISORY CONTROL
  • Marina Maintenance Workers and seasonal hires.

COMPENSATION

This is a Full-Time/Non-Exempt position. Pay rate is $20.00 - $22.00 per hour. Benefits package includes personal time off (PTO) (accrual rate determined by years of service. Professional development opportunities are available contingent upon funding and approval.
