Description:

GENERAL PURPOSE: The Retail Area Supervisor is a vital member of the Store Leadership team responsible for overseeing a designated section of the Store as well as managing overall operations when acting as the Manager on Duty. This role includes opening and closing the Store, supervising team members, and ensuring a welcoming and hassle-free shopping experience for customers. The supervisor also guarantees merchandise is displayed correctly and maintains cleanliness throughout the Store.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments:

  • Prioritizes safety by practicing safe behaviors in all tasks.
  • Maintains vigilance on the sales floor to foster a safe shopping atmosphere and addresses or reports any unsafe conditions promptly.
  • Oversees Store security aspects, including entrance/exit controls, cash office security, and emergency exit accessibility.
  • Clears clutter to ensure unimpeded access to emergency exits.
  • Assures customer safety by preventing accidents and following emergency procedures.
  • Tests fire alarm systems as required and responds to after-hours alarms when necessary.

Customer Service:

  • Treats customers, associates, and fellow leaders with respect and Courtesy.
  • Exhibits professionalism and friendliness while recognizing team members through company recognition initiatives.

Personal and Store Brand:

  • Embodies and promotes the Company brand consistently.
  • Maintains a professional appearance by following the Company Dress Code and ensures associates do the same.
  • Keeps the Store clean and well-maintained to standard.
  • Responsible for daily trash removal.

General Merchandising:

  • Ensures merchandise recovery, sizing, and markdowns are completed according to Company standards through teaching, task assignments, and follow-ups.
  • Receives merchandise deliveries when necessary.
  • Processes all merchandise with urgency.
  • Ensures cleanliness and orderliness of Stockrooms.
  • Oversees merchandise presentation, back stock organization, and loss prevention due to damage.
  • Implements monthly presentation guidelines in the assigned area.

Loss Prevention:

  • Complies with Loss Prevention Awareness Program and actively contributes to Store Loss Prevention efforts through customer engagement and vigilance.
  • Exhibits integrity and honesty in all interactions and safeguards confidential information.
  • Ensures proper maintenance of Public View Monitor systems and conducts package inspections as needed.

Front End Supervision and Operations:

  • Executes Company best practices to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Maintains energy and oversight at the Front End to minimize customer wait times.
  • Trains associates on cash register operations and shortage control policies to maintain service quality.
  • Coordinates Retail Associates' break schedules effectively.
  • Ensures equipment functionality and proper supply management at the Front End.

Fitting Rooms:

  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of the Fitting Rooms.
  • Ensures garment tags in Fitting Rooms are audited and managed in accordance with Company policy.

Administrative Duties as Assigned by Store Manager:

  • Ensures cash pulls and bank deposits follow Company policies.
  • Handles Front End controls as needed and follows all refund and purchase approval procedures.
  • Oversees payroll administration tasks, including edits, scheduling compliance, and reporting.
  • Completes other tasks assigned by the Store Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Prior experience in customer service and a supervisory role is preferred.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale systems.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations commonly used in retail.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

  • Ability to operate Store equipment, including registers and PCs.
  • Ability to stand and move around the Store for up to 100% of the working time.
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop regularly.
  • Ability to occasionally lift more than 25 lbs.
