Reports to: Engineering Manager

Location: Bremerton

FSLA Status: Non-Exempt

Shift: Days, Four Ten -hour days (Monday through Thursday)

Compensation: $85K to 105K per year, DOE

Why we need you and what you will be responsible for:

With a record high backlog of boats to build, we are seeking a passionate, committed leader for our CAD and drafting team to help us build our amazing aluminum boats even more efficiently and successfully! This position will manage our computer-aided design (CAD) systems and lead a team of drafters and designers. This role requires a technically proficient individual who can maintain CAD standards, provide system support, and ensure drafting output meets project and quality standards AND manage people and projects!


What you will do:

CAD Administration:

  • Maintain and administer CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, etc.) across the organization.
  • Develop and enforce CAD standards, templates, libraries, and workflows.
  • Manage software licensing, version control, and updates in coordination with IT.
  • Provide training, support, and troubleshooting assistance to users.
  • Work with engineering and design teams to integrate CAD systems with other enterprise platforms (e.g., PLM, PDM, ERP).

CAD Supervision:

  • Lead and supervise a team of drafters/designers to ensure timely and accurate completion of drawings.
  • Review drawings for quality assurance and compliance with project requirements and standards.
  • Assign drafting tasks based on project schedules and team capacity.
  • Provide mentorship, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities to drafting staff.
  • Coordinate with engineers, architects, and project managers to align drawing output with design intent.
  • Works closely with Leadership in other departments to ensure their needs are being met
  • Recruits, hires, and conducts performance management activities for their team
  • Approves timecards, time off, schedules- ensuring accuracy in payroll and appropriate coverage for the needs of the business

Core skills/requirements we need:

  • Strong understanding of drafting principles, file management, and CAD customization.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and interpretative skills
  • Self-motivated, strategic thinker
  • US Citizenship required (due to Government Contract requirements)

Experience & Education:

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Architecture, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a CAD-related role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or administrative capacity.
  • Proficiency in one or more CAD platforms (e.g., AutoCAD, Solid Edge, SolidWorks, Rhino 3D).
  • Solid Edge experience a plus
  • Marine industry experience a plus
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time
  • Grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, crawling, repetitive motions, bending, climbing
  • Listening and hearing ability and visual acuity
