This position will be scheduled to work 40 hours per week. The position allocated to this class performs leadership, management, and professional work as the head of the Solid Waste division of Spokane County Public Works. Duties include the control and administration of the Countys Transfer Stations and contracts, waste reduction/recycling programs, public outreach and programs, moderate risk waste program, and landfill closure activities. The incumbent manages a wide variety of technical plans, studies, designs, and contracts, work programs and budgets and is responsible for overall management of the Solid Waste Division. Key positions reporting to this position include the Transfer Station Operations Manager, Solid Waste Business Supervisor and Senior Project Manager.
