️ Lead the teams building tomorrow's infrastructure.

Are you a strategic leader who thrives on managing people, budgets, and timelines? At Total Civil Construction & Engineering, we're looking for a Project Manager who can command the field and the office, someone who ensures safety, quality, and profitability from groundbreaking to ribbon cutting.

What You'll Do:

As a Project Manager, you'll be responsible for the full lifecycle of complex civil projects — roads, utilities, excavation, and more. You'll drive progress across operations, ensure compliance with contracts, and coordinate between internal teams, vendors, and clients.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Manage project engineers, superintendents, and foremen across job sites
  • Monitor safety, budget, quality, schedule, and production targets
  • Oversee project milestones, scope, contracts, and compliance documentation
  • Lead project reporting, budgeting meetings, and scheduling reviews
  • Maintain project cash flow, billing, and collections
  • Oversee subcontractors, quality control, and site logistics
  • Resolve engineering or field conflicts swiftly with SMEs and team leads
  • Process RFIs, change orders, POs, and submittals accurately and on time
  • Ensure labor, material, and equipment costs are tracked and controlled
  • Collaborate with estimating, procurement, planning, and trucking teams
  • Track project documentation and ensure contract adherence
  • Interface with clients, vendors, and subs to resolve challenges and stay aligned
  • Provide accurate forecasts and alerts on opportunities, risks, and gaps
  • Drive final closeout with the Planning Department to meet client expectations

What You Bring:

We're looking for someone who's just as comfortable managing a Gantt chart as they are walking a muddy jobsite.

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management (Required)

Software Proficiency:

Required Experience:

  • 5+ years in project management for civil construction
  • Deep field knowledge in underground utilities, sitework, and roadway construction
  • Familiarity with contracting, procurement, RFIs, change orders, and pay apps
  • Must drive to local sites (DC, MD, VA) several times per week

Language:

  • English (Advanced) | Spanish (Basic – Preferred)
  • Strong leadership and decision-making in high-pressure environments
  • Effective communicator with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Skilled in scheduling, financial forecasting, and construction documentation
  • Can build trust, resolve conflict, and inspire accountability
  • Detail-oriented, assertive, and focused on continuous improvement
  • Can manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable working in both office and field environments
  • Can interpret and use contracts as a management tool
  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses
  • Health, Vision, Dental, and Life Insurance
  • Vehicle allowance, fuel card, phone, laptop, and licensed software provided
  • Career path to Senior Project Manager
  • Collaborative, purpose-driven teams
  • Paid ongoing training and certification support
  • Drug-Free Workplace | EEO Employer: Veterans, Minorities, Women encouraged to apply
