Are you a detail-oriented finance professional ready to lead while staying hands-on with daily operations? We're looking for a Controller to join a growing independent organization and help build the financial systems that will support long-term scalability and transparency.

In this key leadership role, you'll oversee accounting processes, manage commission and carrier payments, and provide the financial insights that drive strategic decisions. This is a great opportunity for someone ready to step into their first controller role or expand on previous leadership experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations: AP/AR, general ledger, bank reconciliations
• Oversee commission tracking and payments to producers
• Set up financial controls and implement accounting tools and systems
• Track new/renewed business and manage producer compensation
• Reconcile carrier statements and identify discrepancies
• Deliver monthly financials, forecasts, dashboards, and performance reports
• Lead budgeting, benchmarking, and scorecard development

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience
• Prior experience as a Controller or Accounting Manager (or strong readiness to step into the role)
• Proficiency with QuickBooks/Xero, Excel/Google Sheets, CRM systems
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Bonus Points For

• Experience in financial services, or related industries
• Familiarity with producer compensation models or agency operations
• A track record of optimizing or implementing accounting systems in a growing company
