A biotech solutions company, on a mission to improve lives through quality, innovation, and integrity, seeks a Finance Manager who is a builder, mentor, and change agent. This person will report directly to the CFO and play a key leadership role while combining tactical accounting duties with team supervision, process transformation, and system optimization. This position sits in Montgomery County, MD.

Duties include:

• Lead and supervise daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger management, and bank reconciliations.
• Serve as the accounting system subject matter expert – manage configurations, troubleshoot issues, and train others on optimal usage.
• Ensure bills are paid accurately and on time, while maintaining strong vendor relationships.
• Establish and monitor financial workflows, closing schedules, and reporting timelines.
• Coach and mentor junior team members, setting performance goals and ensuring accountability.
• Collaborate with internal departments to support budgeting, cost control, and audit preparation.
• Maintain compliance with internal controls, GAAP, and company policies.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of a high-performing, future-ready finance department.
• Partner with executive leadership and our external financial consultant to align department activities with broader organizational goals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA is a strong plus)
• At least 3 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role
• Proven expertise in QuickBooks Online, including implementation or optimization
• Strong understanding of GAAP, reconciliations, and internal controls
