Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Director of Accounting to independently manage complex multi-entity financial operations in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment. This role requires an exceptionally detail-oriented professional who can rapidly process information, make data-driven decisions, and implement structured processes while adapting to continuous organizational change. The ideal candidate is a self-directed leader who thrives on establishing clear procedures, mentoring teams through systematic approaches, and maintaining consistency amid dynamic growth.
Key Responsibilities·Manage comprehensive financial operations across multiple business entities, including budgeting, forecasting, and consolidated reporting
·Oversee billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable functions across all entities to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
·Prepare consolidated financial reports and variance analysis to support executive decision-making across the holding company structure
·Ensure all financial activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and accounting standards across multiple jurisdictions
Team Management & Development·Independently lead, mentor, and optimize a team of 3+ accounting professionals through structured coaching and clear performance frameworks
·Quickly identify team inefficiencies and implement data-driven solutions to maximize productivity and professional growth
·Establish detailed standard operating procedures and provide systematic training to ensure consistent execution
·Create motivational environments that inspire teams to excel while maintaining exacting standards for accuracy and timeliness
·Develop comprehensive onboarding processes and instructional materials that enable rapid skill development
Systems & Process Improvement·Independently evaluate, select, and implement new ERP systems with meticulous attention to data migration and process standardization
·Design highly detailed financial processes and internal controls that ensure consistency across all network entities
·Rapidly assess current systems and processes, providing fact-based recommendations for operational improvements
·Create comprehensive documentation and instructional guides that enable seamless process adoption and consistent execution
·Establish structured change management protocols to handle continuous system and process evolution
Strategic Growth Support·Provide financial leadership for merger and acquisition activities, including due diligence support and target evaluation
·Develop and execute post-acquisition integration plans for newly acquired entities, including system integration and process harmonization
·Support expansion initiatives through financial modeling, budgeting, and operational planning
·Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic financial decisions and growth opportunities
Project Management·Independently manage multiple complex financial projects with extreme attention to detail and structured milestone tracking
·Rapidly adapt project plans to accommodate changing business requirements while maintaining quality and timeline commitments
·Develop comprehensive project documentation, including detailed procedures, timelines, and success metrics
·Provide clear, instructional guidance to cross-functional teams to ensure consistent project execution
·Implement systematic change management processes that maintain operational stability during continuous organizational evolution
Qualifications and RequirementsEssential Experience· 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with demonstrated ability to work independently in fast-paced, constantly changing environments
·Proven track record of implementing detailed, structured processes that deliver consistent results across multiple business entities
·Experience in professional services, legal, or consulting environments
·Familiarity with legal billing systems and client trust account management
·Experience rapidly analyzing complex financial data and providing fact-based recommendations to senior leadership
·Strong background in process management with ability to create systematic approaches to operational challenges
·Demonstrated success in motivating teams while maintaining extremely high standards for accuracy and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications·CPA designation or equivalent advanced accounting certification preferred but not required
·Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and financial reporting tools, with demonstrated ability to rapidly master new technologies
·Exceptional Excel skills and experience with detailed financial modeling and consolidation processes
· Extremely strong analytical capabilities with meticulous attention to detail and data accuracy
·Systematic approach to financial analysis with ability to present fact-based findings in clear, instructional formats
·Knowledge of acquisition accounting and purchase price allocation
