The Corbin Art Center is seeking an experienced painting instructor to join our team in providing life enriching art programs to the Spokane community. As our painting instructor you will be responsible for developing and delivering a diverse curriculum that encompasses oil and acrylic painting techniques, while providing and inclusive learning environment. Classes are for beginning to intermediate students where you will play a pivotal role in guiding students through the fundamentals of painting while encouraging them to explore their own unique artistic voices.EXAMPLES OF JOB FUNCTIONS The following Responsibilities and Requirements are functions the individual who holds or desires the position must be able to perform unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation.Duties and Responsibilities:Develop and implement art curriculum and lesson plansTeach fundamental art techniques and conceptsGuide students in exploring various art mediums and stylesProvide constructive feedback on student artworkMaintain a safe and orderly classroom environmentStay updated with the latest art trends and educational techniquesInspire and motivate students to pursue their artistic interestsEncourage students to experiment and express themselves creativelyManage classroom supplies and materialsTeach oil and or acrylic beginner and intermediate classesPreferred Qualifications and Skills:Previous teaching experience in an academic or community settingDegree in Art or related fieldProficiency in a wide range of art techniques and mediumsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to motivate and inspire studentsFlexibility and adaptability in teaching methodsKnowledge of art history and contemporary art trendsPatience and attentiveness to individual student needsCreative problem-solving skillsEnthusiasm for continuous learning and professional developmentProven ability to teach and mentor studentsStrong portfolio demonstrating artistic skillsExcellent organizational skillsProficient in classroom managementAbility to create engaging lesson plansCommitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environmentFamiliarity with safety practices for art materials and tools MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must be 18 years of ageHighschool diploma/GEDAbility to lift 25lbsAbility to climb stairsAbility to exercise proper care of equipment and facilityWe are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity within our organization.
