Our Energy Business Unit is seeking a talented Civil/Structural Substation Engineer to work within a multi-discipline team to develop efficient and reliable design of civil activities. Our team of creative professionals works together to understand client needs, provide innovative thinking, and deliver extraordinary service that exceeds expectations.About The RoleThe location for this hybrid-friendly position is flexible with a preference for individuals who are based near one of DEA's offices in California, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, Texas, Utah, or Washington. Fully remote may be considered depending on circumstances. Some travel for project execution may be required.Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To The FollowingPerforms all aspects of substation structural design, including preparation of steel performance drawings, fabrication drawings, and foundation designShall understand and adhere to client standards and processes while working individually or within a team to complete complex and technically challenging designsReviewing internal and external designs for code compliance, good design practice and constructability,Preparing project specifications for material and equipment purchase and installation,Resolving site queries, attending site meetings and performing site inspections during the construction phase of projectsMaintaining complete project documentation with respect to civil/structural design and construction, including all completion packages, as-built requirements and return data informationPerform QA/QC for deliverables to clientsSupport the mentorship and training of other team membersMaking and maintaining appropriate commitments to project teams and coordinating design activities with multi-disciplined project team members,Maintaining good working relationships with internal groups that support projects such as Procurement, Drafting, Project Management, etcMaintaining good working relationships with clients, material suppliers, contractors, and any others that affect the quality, schedule and cost of projectsBasic QualificationsBSCE (Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering) degree from an ABET accredited university8+ years of civil or structural substation designProficiency with structural analysis, concrete design, steel design, soil mechanics and foundation designProficiency in structural modeling software such as STADD Pro and foundation design software such as LPile is a plusWorking knowledge of 3D civil software such as AutoCad Civil 3D a plusPreferred QualificationsProfessional Engineering LicenseBenefitsMedical, Dental, Vision, Disability, and Life Insurance.Health Savings and Lifestyle Spending Account with employer contribution.Support for continuing education and training opportunities.Paid Time Off (PTO)/Holiday Pay.401k.Flexible 9/80 (every other Friday off) work schedule.Holistic Wellbeing Program with a focus on physical, emotional, financial, career, and community health.Opportunity for growth with support and mentoring to help achieve professional goals.Salary Range: $103,000 – $156,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience; will vary by location.About DEA's Energy Business UnitOur Energy Business Unit partners with utility and transportation clients, developers, and construction contractors to provide power delivery and renewable energy infrastructure solutions so our communities and end users can access safe, reliable, affordable power.
