Volunteer Opportunity:

We seek a Volunteer API Solutions Architect to help enhance our technological capabilities, allowing us to serve and support marginalized children better. This role is pivotal in developing and managing APIs that connect our various digital systems, improving our operational efficiency and enabling us to make a greater impact.

Volunteer Wix Developer Responsibilities

  • Design and develop API strategies to facilitate seamless integration between our organization's software applications and third-party services.
  • Work closely with our IT team and external partners to define and implement API-based integrations that support our mission's unique needs.
  • Ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of all API solutions.
  • Document API architectures and guidelines for developers, ensuring the best API use and integration practices.
  • Provide technical leadership in identifying and adopting new technologies or approaches to enhance our digital infrastructure.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving any API integration issues.

Volunteer Wix Developer Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience may also be considered.
  • Technical Expertise: Minimum of 3 years of experience in API development, including RESTful and SOAP web services. Proven ability to design, develop, and implement API solutions.
  • Tools and Technologies: Proficiency with API management platforms and familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Experience with integration and automation platforms such as Zapier, MuleSoft, or similar tools is highly desirable.
  • Security and Compliance: Knowledge of web security standards and best practices for API development, including OAuth, JWT, and data encryption techniques.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills with the ability to tackle API integration and system architecture challenges.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Experience working in collaborative teams and with remote team members. Ability to engage with volunteers, staff, and external partners productively and respectfully.
  • Project Management: Basic understanding of project management principles and tools. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with attention to deadlines and details.
  • Passion for the Cause: A strong alignment with the mission of Believe in Me and a desire to use your skills to impact marginalized children's lives positively.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working in the non-profit sector, particularly in digital innovation and technology deployment roles.
  • Previous volunteer experience, demonstrating a commitment to social causes and community service.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems like Salesforce and data integration tools to enhance donor engagement and operational efficiency.
  • Continuous learning mindset with a track record of staying updated on the latest trends and technologies in API development and system integration.
