DEPARTMENT PURPOSE - The Solid Waste Disposal Department strives to protect public health, property and the environment. The Solid Waste Disposal department manages comprehensive programs to dispose of municipal solid waste efficiently, effectively, and sustainably for the Spokane region. The Solid Waste Disposal Department provides essential services for our community. POSITION PURPOSE - Provides strategic leadership and support to operate the Waste to Energy Plant and two City owned landfills. Performs responsible administrative and supervisory work directing maintenance, operations, engineering, safety, and regulatory compliance for these facilities. SUPERVISION EXERCISED - Employee works under limited supervision and reports to the Director of Solid Waste Management.
