Divisional Business Development Manager - Complex Commercial HVAC Solutions

Location: West Division of Daikin Applied. This role includes extensive travel to markets including Seattle, Dallas, Houston, Las Vegas, and Denver.

What You Will Do

  • Sell complex Daikin Solutions at the C-level while reaching optimal profit levels, focusing on demonstrating value at the executive level by addressing business and financial challenges and achieving joint planning status.
  • Oversee consultative sales to project management turnovers and partner with project management on subcontracting, billing, startups, and related activities to determine funding, timeframes, procedures, and staffing requirements for project success.
  • Understand financial impacts on the customer's P&L, utilities, rebates, and compliance with state/local building codes and building processes.
  • Manage and coordinate Project Team activities to perform all aspects of project administration including initiation, planning, execution, control, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Engage with customers to ensure goals and objectives are met; anticipate and respond to client needs and concerns.
  • Plan, implement, and continuously improve sales practices, project development, subcontractor selections, and project management tools to streamline processes and maximize stakeholder returns.
  • Partner with Regional and District levels for sales training and implementation of sales management disciplines.
  • Manage the Project Team P&L to deliver annual financial objectives.
  • Participate in civic and business organizations and maintain relationships with industry and trade associates, vendors, and professional organizations.
  • Coach and develop employees to maximize performance and potential; manage performance with recognition, feedback, regular reviews, and corrective action when needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of experience; 8+ years in people leadership, project management, and/or sales in commercial HVAC projects.
  • Experience leading complex, multi-project initiatives for commercial HVAC.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate effectively at the C-level.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters of Business Administration.
  • Certified Energy Manager.
  • Energy Services experience strongly preferred.

The typical salary for this position ranges from $150,000 - $205,000 plus a 30% bonus incentive plan on a national scale. Individual base pay will depend on factors including skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
