How you will make a difference

As a Dialysis Patient Care Specialist at US Renal Care, you will play a crucial role in a dedicated team focused on delivering exceptional care to patients with renal failure. You will work closely with a Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse (CN) to ensure that each patient receives the highest quality of treatment and support.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Patient Care: Directly engaging with patients to provide safe, comfortable, and effective dialysis treatment. Key tasks involve gathering vital patient statistics before and after treatment, initiating the dialysis process, closely monitoring patients throughout, properly terminating treatments, and collecting blood samples as instructed by physicians.
  • Technical Duties: Upholding the highest standards of quality by preparing dialysis machines for treatment, thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting them post-treatment, and performing safety checks to document results, all while ensuring adherence to protocols and regulations.
  • Safety and Compliance: Implementing appropriate safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment, while following company policies and relevant laws under the guidance of a Charge Nurse. Your active participation in staff meetings and ongoing education will be vital.

What We're Looking For:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A strong desire to work in healthcare and provide compassionate care to patients.
  • Prior healthcare experience in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the USRC training program approved by the Medical Director, including demonstrated competency, within 8 weeks of hire.
  • Completion of the USRC training course in hemodialysis theory and practice within 8 weeks of hire.
  • CPR certification required within 90 days of hire or as mandated by state regulations.
  • Patient Care Technician certification should be obtained within 18 months of hire through a recognized state or national program and maintained in good standing.
  • Ability to distinguish all primary colors is essential.
  • Comfort with mixing acids and bicarbonate as per established protocols.
