Description
Job Title: Lab Technician I, II, III
The Laboratory Technician at Hi-Rel Laboratories, Inc. (HR Labs) an established leader in aerospace testing, performs testing and equipment operation in microelectronic testing. Under the direction from laboratory personnel, the laboratory technician gathers and utilizes knowledge of equipment, aerospace components, and inspection procedures to conduct component analysis, providing timely and accurate results to customers.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborate with experienced personnel to learn the necessary skills, techniques, and knowledge.
- Apply knowledge of testing, inspection, and military specifications.
- Perform analytical techniques.
- Operate specialized equipment.
- Assist with anomaly analysis investigations utilizing various technologies and offer data-based results.
- Provide accurate interpretation of test results, related data, and maintain complete records.
- Follow detailed test procedures and workflows.
- Ensure adherence to the laboratory Quality Management System.
- Perform work within specified time frame and to specifications or test plans.
- Follow procedures in place to support first-class customer response and departmental efficiency.
- Interface with and provide support for other technical staff as needed.
- Provide training and technical guidance to fellow lab technicians and assistants.
- Coordinate with senior staff for daily activities including analysis planning and inspection.
- Maintain lab equipment according to the laboratory equipment maintenance and calibration program, ensuring functionality, data accuracy, and minimal downtime.
- Collaborate with industry engineers to improve yield and reliability through expertise sharing, process improvement, and risk mitigation.
Level I, II, or III Levels are distinguished from one another by responsibilities, experience, and skills. Level advancement is achieved by meeting the minimum requirements, successful performance, budget availability, and management recommendation.
- Technician I is entry level and expected to apply basic principles, theories, and concepts to routine assignments, as well as develop expertise and practical knowledge of analytical techniques and processes.
- Technician II is intermediate level and expected to apply expertise and practical knowledge of analytical techniques and processes to moderately complex assignments. This individual acts as an informed team member and often exercises independent judgment, within specified parameters.
- Technician III is senior level and expected to apply an advanced level of expertise and practical knowledge to assignments of diverse complexity and scope. This individual can utilize independent judgment to handle most complex assignments and educates fellow technicians on the best processes and analytical techniques.
Qualifications: - Experience or demonstrated interest in electronics or a related engineering or science-based discipline.
- 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
- Employee must have vision correctable to 20/20 with no color blindness.

Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Pay Transparency Lab Technician I: $19.00 Starting Wage
Lab Technician I: Pay Range 2025: $19.00 - $23.00
Requirements
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 4:00 pm. Overtime may be required as needed.
On-the-Job Training Given the specialized nature of the work performed at Hi-Rel Labs, many employees in this position learn the necessary knowledge through on-the-job training.
