C4ADS is seeking a strategic leader to serve as Head of Impact Operations, driving the production of high-quality public analytical products while leading organizational excellence across data, analysis, and methodology. This role shapes how C4ADS measures and communicates impact, ensures analytical rigor across the organization, identifies legal risk, and manages critical partnerships that amplify our mission to combat illicit and malign threat networks.
This leadership position combines operational oversight with strategic vision, requiring expertise in analytical tradecraft, organizational effectiveness, and stakeholder engagement to ensure C4ADS maintains its reputation as a pioneer in publicly available information analysis.
What You'll Do
Production & Organizational Impact Management
- Lead enterprise-wide integration of analytical tradecraft, data standards, and methodologies across all departments, ensuring consistency and excellence in organizational outputs.
- Direct the production pipeline for public-facing analytical products across the organization, setting quality standards, enforcing timelines, and approving final releases in coordination with executive leadership.
- Manage legal and liability decisions for public-facing products, serving as primary legal liaison for organizational activities, risk assessments, and compliance matters.
- Serve as lead advisor on product strategy and risk assessment, determining which projects have public stakes and establishing appropriate quality controls and release protocols.
Operations Leadership
- Support the Senior Director of Operations with coordination and strategic initiatives across team functions
- Develop, track, and maintain frameworks and metrics for measuring organizational effectiveness and impact, providing quarterly assessments that inform strategic decision‑making.
- Lead organizational AI integration initiatives, evaluating and implementing AI tools and governance policies to enhance operational efficiencies across the organization
- Guide publication partnerships and co‑authorship decisions, managing program‑agnostic partner relationships and analyzing partnership trends to maximize impact.
- Directly manage the Design Associate and advise on cross‑functional operations, including media engagements, events, and resource allocation decisions.
Organizational People & Process Development
- Support employee onboarding and continuous training programs
- Coordinate key cross‑team integration meetings and activities
- Support development of employee resources, training, and cross‑team coordination processes
Partnerships & External Relations
- Oversee the C4ADS CRM (HubSpot) including system architecture, resources and training, and data integrity
- Maintain and grow organizational partnerships, particularly with technology and data partners and cross‑program contact
- Facilitate cross‑departmental coordination, supporting organizational meetings, event planning, and culture initiatives that drive team effectiveness.
- Represent C4ADS at senior‑level forums and events, expanding the network of strategic partnerships relevant to our mission.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in a related field; master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in analytical or research organizations, including experience managing cross‑functional teams and operations.
- Deep expertise in analytic tradecraft, data management, and quality assurance methodologies.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing organizational standards and best practices across complex teams.
- Strong understanding of legal and risk management considerations for research organizations, particularly regarding public‑facing content.
- Proficiency with CRM systems (HubSpot preferred) and partnership management.
- Experience with AI integration and emerging technology adoption in analytical environments.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and decision‑making abilities, with skill in balancing operational efficiency with mission impact.
- Outstanding communication skills with ability to translate complex analytical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Experience managing external partnerships and stakeholder relationships at senior levels.
- Demonstrated ability to drive organizational change and foster culture of excellence and innovation.
- Knowledge of national security, transparency, or investigative research sectors.
- Commitment to C4ADS' mission of using publicly available data to combat illicit and malign threat networks and strengthen transparency.
