ECEAP Family Support Coach

Description:

Community-Minded Enterprises (CME) is seeking a compassionate, community-driven Family Support Coach to join our Early Learning team. In this role, you will work closely with our Family Support Specialist and ECEAP Manager to recruit, engage, and support Russian and/or Ukrainian-speaking families whose children are enrolled in CME's ECEAP program.

What You'll Do

You will build trusting, supportive relationships with families and help them navigate the early learning system, connect to community resources, and advance toward self-sufficiency. Core responsibilities include:

Family Engagement & Support

  • Meet with families to set goals, follow up, and document progress using Mobility Mentoring.
  • Conduct family support conferences three times per year.
  • Provide interpretation and translation for families and ECEAP staff (Russian/Ukrainian English).
  • Conduct home visits with the ECEAP team.
  • Advocate for families to access services such as health, dental, mental health, housing, employment, and financial assistance.
  • Support health screenings, including assisting families with well-child exams and dental appointments.
Recruitment & Enrollment
  • Partner with Family Support Specialist and ECEAP Manager to recruit ECEAP-eligible families and maintain an ongoing waitlist.
  • Assist with ELMS data entry and maintain accurate, confidential family files.
Family Events & Program Participation
  • Support planning and engagement for family events, volunteer opportunities, parent leadership activities (Policy Council, Health Advisory Committee), and classroom involvement.
Team & Classroom Support
  • Build strong, positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
  • Assist in classrooms when staff coverage is needed (breaks, absences).
  • Attend workshops, team meetings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Work occasional evenings or weekends, depending on family and program needs.
What You Bring

Education & Experience
  • BA or AA in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in early childhood education or family support preferred.
Language Skills
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English and Russian and/or Ukrainian.
  • Ability to translate, interpret, and adapt communication to meet family needs.
Other Requirements
  • Valid driver's license and automobile liability insurance.
  • Ability to pass Washington State and Federal background checks and obtain Level 5 security clearance.
  • Basic math skills and strong written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong interpersonal skills-listening, conflict resolution, openness to collaboration, and emotional regulation.
