This role will be based in our Washington D.C. office, on an in-office basis. This role reports to the Talent Services Senior Manager.
Position Summary
The Talent Services Assistant provides comprehensive administrative support to the Talent Services department under the guidance of the Talent Services Senior Manager. Responsibilities include assisting with staff recruitment, onboarding, event planning, benefits administration, electronic file maintenance, other HR-related tasks and professional development. Candidates should be flexible and willing to work overtime as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Assists with staff recruitment by posting open positions, tracking applicants via the applicant tracking system, and scheduling interview appointments.
- Communicates with candidates regarding application status and coordinates all aspects of the new hire process, including paperwork, background checks, and start dates.
- Supports onboarding and orientation for new employees by preparing welcome communications and assisting with the planning and execution of orientation sessions.
- Assists with employee benefits administration, including healthcare, life, disability, 401(k), and other health and welfare programs; provide support during annual open enrollment.
- Maintains accurate personnel records, including personnel files, I-9s, E-Verify documentation, and records for both active and terminated employees.
- Coordinates firm events such as staff appreciation activities, wellness clinics, holiday parties, and other special events; assist with community fundraising initiatives as needed.
- Provides administrative support for vacation coverage and overflow tasks.
- Assists with the performance assessment process by sending reminders and tracking feedback for employee reviews.
- Processes employment verifications and HR transactions, including employee changes and separations; assist employees with time and attendance systems and review time records.
- Coordinates attorney CLE training programs and manage bar association memberships.
- Organizes and manages logistics for in-person and virtual training sessions, including scheduling, preparing materials, and tracking attendance.
- Prepares HR and professional development-related reports as requested.
- Supports the implementation of firm-wide initiatives related to learning, development, and employee engagement.
- Performs additional duties as assigned, including supporting other GT offices as needed.

Education & Prior Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business Organizational Development, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of one to three years' experience in a human resources support role.
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR/SPHR) or SHRM-CP/SCP certification preferred.
- Basic understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment law compliance.
- Law firm experience a plus.
Technology
- Proficiency with Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) required.
- Experience with HR-related programs/software including Workday or other HRIS database systems.
- Ability to learn new software applications quickly; exceptional computer skills required.
- Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) or training platforms a plus.
The expected pay range for this position is:
$25.33 to $28.16 per hour
Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
