Field Technician - Travel Opportunities

Description:

Pay Rate: $34.57 per hour.

Exciting Field Technician/Engineer Roles Available:

  • Expertise in installation and configuration of Ciena 6500 systems.
  • Proficient in running, terminating, and dressing DC power & ground cabling with a maximum size of 2awg (typically 6awg, 8awg, and 10awg).
    • Utilize existing ladder racks while maintaining high-quality standards and adapting to site conditions with guidance from a Field Engineer.
    • Insulated tools are necessary (can be provided if you possess outstanding technical skills).
  • Competence in terminating DC power cabling in an energized BDFB environment.
    • Zero downtime requirement from the customer; insulative barriers will be provided as PPE.
  • Skilled in handling CAT5, T1 (16 pair), and alarm (4 pair) cables.
    • Experience with RJ-45, DSX panel wire wrapping, and DIN rail mounted terminal blocks for various termination styles.
  • Able to understand engineering design packages and CAD drawings effectively.
  • Skilled in applying labels accurately on power, data, and fiber connections.
  • Adaptable to varying site conditions, including data centers, substations, and mountain top radio huts.
  • Committed to working safely around live equipment with a zero downtime mandate.
    • Many sites may contain sensitive, long-established equipment that requires cautious handling.
  • Capable of using step ladders safely.
  • Able to install and modify fiber raceways, including 2.5x2.5" vertical and horizontal ducts, with adjustments as needed for downspouts and extensions.
  • Willingness to follow directions, work collaboratively, and independently as necessary (a Lead will always be on site to assist).
  • Focused on meeting project deadlines, with typical durations of 2-5 days at each site.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills are essential.
  • Must possess an OSHA-10 certification.
  • Required safety gear includes Cat 2 FR clothing, Type 1 hardhat, steel-toed boots, cut-resistant gloves, and safety glasses to be onsite.
  • Must have a clean background check and be eligible for federal clearance, meeting NERC-CIP access requirements.
