Description
About Volunteers of America
Volunteers of America (VOA) is a licensed behavioral health organization delivering services without clinical walls. Care is provided where people are-through shelters, medical respite, supported housing, and other community-based programs-integrating substance use treatment, behavioral health, case management, and support services to meet immediate needs and support long-term recovery and stability.
Our work is grounded in low-barrier, trauma-informed, and person-centered approaches that recognize the realities of homelessness, housing instability, and co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
Position Summary
The Substance Use Disorder Professional / Trainee (SUDP/T) provides substance use disorder assessment, treatment, and recovery-oriented services to participants across VOA behavioral health programs. This role works with individuals experiencing substance use and co-occurring conditions in non-traditional, community-based settings.
SUDPs serve young adults, minors, women, veterans, and adults across a variety of environments including emergency shelters, medical respite, and supported housing programs. This position collaborates closely with participants, clinical supervisors, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based treatment, support behavior change, and connect participants to resources that promote long-term recovery and stability.
