Summary of Functions:
To ensure professional execution for Northern Quest Resort and Casino client's banquets, meetings and functions of all types and sizes in all areas. Responsible for high level of guest satisfaction and superior service for events such as weddings, Christmas parties, and be in attendance of Northern Quest concerts and major events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide constant, attentive and friendly service to all guests, greets guests in appropriate manner.
- Serve beverages according to Mandatory Alcohol Service Training (MAST) guidelines.
- Assist banquet Team Members (Servers, Bartenders, Set-up Porters, Cocktail Servers and Ushers, and Beverage Porters) to ensure superior guest service.
- Review the client's needs or special requests, in order to deliver a flawless performance, while maintaining very high standards.
- Complete all side work in a timely and satisfactory manner to ensure a clean, neat work area with adequate supply level.
- Correctly perform all necessary paper and bookwork at shifts end.
- Relay any complaints, problems or positive remarks to shift supervisor.
- Attend all training meetings.
- Keep storage areas clean and organized. Make sure that equipment is cleaned properly and stored securely.
- Responsible for maintaining a good attendance record.
- May be required to be a panelist for the Internal Review Board Process.
- Must be able to execute multiple tasks at the same time, while staying focused and organized.
- Coordinate special arrangements and needs with the appropriate departments for the operation.
- Knowledge of food and wine for training service.
- Help organize clearing stations and Back of House.
- Work along with the Culinary Team, in the setting of buffet tables and other food displays.
- Inspect the overall ambiance of the room to meet the need of the client.
- Make certain that the tables are set according to Northern Quest Casino standards and the requirement of the function and the client.
- In the absence of a supervisor or manager, meet and greet clients at the beginning of their function and communicate with them through the duration of their event.
- Follows Northern Quest Casino procedures for "Room Control" pertaining to guest conduct and alcohol use.
Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Experience - 1-year current related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred).
Skills & Abilities - Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by team members and guests.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with department head and employees.
- Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Education - High School Diploma / GED
Other Requirements - Ability to obtain and maintain a Kalispel Tribal Work Permit.
- Mandatory Alcohol Server Training (MAST) certification. - obtain within 60 days of start date.
- Washington State Food Handler Permit. -obtain within 14 days of start date.
- Hepatitis A vaccination.
- Available and willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to tobacco smoke, flashing lights, and loud noises as found in a casino setting.
