Description:

Job Summary: This role is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in assigned areas of a healthcare facility, following established policies and procedures. The position involves monitoring laundry machines to clean various articles such as sheets, towels, and cloths,while also performing general facility cleaning and maintenance tasks including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and floor care. Ground maintenance duties may also be included.

Essential Functions:

  • Carry out all assigned tasks professionally, reflecting the highest standards of the Environmental Services Department.
  • Perform routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting rooms, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, and stairways to ensure a clean, neat, and sanitary environment.
  • Complete work assignments efficiently and within designated timelines.
  • Use appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedures and maintain equipment properly.
  • Assist visitors with directions when requested and introduce oneself to patients, families, and visitors.
  • Report safety hazards promptly and transport trash and hazardous waste to designated disposal areas.
  • Replenish supplies as needed and adhere to infection prevention and control practices, including Standard and Transmission-Based Precautions and hand hygiene.

Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Experience: One to three months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Professional Requirements: Maintain regulatory compliance, report to work punctually, complete tasks within timelines, and demonstrate courteous, respectful communication with patients, guests, and staff. Commitment to the organization's mission, ethics, and goals is essential.
