Stringer Operator


This exciting role will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating automated stringer machinery used in solar cell assembly. This hands-on position requires mechanical and technical aptitude to maintain consistent product quality, minimize downtime, and support preventive maintenance and troubleshooting efforts. They are headquartered in the Burlington, WA area. The company is a leading designer and manufacturer of solar cells and PV Modules for the renewable energy industry. Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor stringer machinery to ensure proper function, throughput, and quality.
  • Load materials and visually inspect solar cells for defects or deviations.
  • Use HMIs and NC interfaces for machine control, diagnostics, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Perform preventive and autonomous maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubrication, and component inspection.
  • Identify and communicate machine issues to maintenance and engineering teams to minimize downtime.
  • Accurately record hourly production and performance data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on process improvements and corrective actions.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Support training and onboarding of new operators.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical diploma or certification preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a production or automated manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with HMI-controlled and NC machinery.
  • Strong understanding of preventive maintenance and basic mechanical/electrical troubleshooting.
  • Excellent attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and communication skills.
  • Team-oriented, dependable, and proactive with a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with pneumatic and electrical systems a plus.
  • Able to stand, walk, and work on feet for 8+ hours.


Salary Range:

  • $24-27/hr depending on experience.


Weekly Schedule Options:

  • PITMAN DAY SHIFT: 6:00 AM- 6:00 PM with rotating schedule 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off, etc.
  • PITMAN NIGHT SHIFT (+$2/hr night shift differential pay): 6:00 PM- 6:00 AM with rotating schedule 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off, etc.
