Description:

As a crucial member of our team, the Waitstaff is responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests. You will warmly greet, seat, and serve patrons, ensuring their dining experience is enjoyable from beginning to end. Your role includes taking and delivering orders, suggesting menu items, processing payments, and collaborating with fellow staff to ensure top-notch customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve guests with a sense of urgency and meet service timing standards.
  • Welcome guests promptly upon arrival and acknowledge their departure.
  • Assist in seating guests, following proper rotation and accommodating special requests.
  • Promote menu items and achieve sales targets by suggestive selling.
  • Accurately input orders into the point of sale system.
  • Prepare beverages and various appetizers, salads, and desserts.
  • Verify prepared orders for completeness and presentation before serving.
  • Deliver food and beverages in a timely manner that meets our standards.
  • Engage with guests throughout their dining experience, addressing any needs or concerns.
  • Maintain familiarity with station and floor layouts.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of our menu offerings.
  • Handle telephone etiquette and assist with “to-go” orders as needed.
  • Pre-bus tables efficiently and keep dining areas clean and organized.
  • Respond to guest complaints and requests courteously and promptly.
  • Follow safe cash handling procedures and accurately process transactions.
  • Assist colleagues and work as a team to ensure a smooth service.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the dining room and service areas.
  • Complete side work and deep cleaning assignments as required.
  • Provide friendly and courteous service to all team members and guests.
  • Follow Denny's Brand Standards and internal policies consistently.

Essential Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 30 lbs.
  • Capable of raising trays weighing up to 25 lbs to shoulder height.
  • Able to bend, stoop, reach, lift, and perform other physical tasks.
  • Must have good mobility and stand/walk for shifts lasting 4 to 8 hours.
  • Ability to hear and respond promptly in a busy atmosphere.
  • Must adhere to all health regulations regarding food handling.
  • Must be able to differentiate between monetary denominations.
  • Be able to serve all menu items effectively.
  • Knowledgeable in operating a point of sale system.
  • Ability to work safely with cleaning chemicals.

  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Must pass all required training and testing.
  • Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
  • Maintain Denny's uniform and grooming standards throughout the shift.
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Demonstrated excellent guest service skills.
  • Basic math skills for handling payments.
  • Reliability and capacity to follow instructions is essential.
  • Value diversity and demonstrate respect for colleagues and guests.
